The jurors from "Top of the Mountains” all agreed; Axamer Lizum – the skiing paradise at Innsbruck – thanks to its great past as the venue for Olympic Alpine competitions, but most of all because of its great future potential with regard to natural resources such as reliable snow conditions, location and panorama as well as natural terrain and pistes fully deserved the award for best ski area. The award was presented recently in Mayrhofen and is a gratifying recognition of the successful course pursued by the ski area.
It's precisely these traits that prompted those in charge of the Tyrolean ski instructors Association to select Axamer Lizum as the location for their unique centre of training and competence out of all Tyrolean ski areas available to them. It’s only recently that the inaugural celebrations for this central place of training and advanced training for skiing, snowboarding and cross country instructors were held in Axamer Lizum. This, too, is a visible sign for pooled winter sports expertise and the role of Axamer Lizum in domestic and national winter sports instruction. The opening took place in December 2013.
